The Dances of Universal Peace are simple, meditative, and joyous circle dances that celebrate the variety of spiritual paths on Earth. If you like folk dancing, you’ll be right at home here. No previous experience is needed — just an open and willing attitude. Participation, not presentation, is the focus.

The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 10 December as Human Rights Day in 1950 to bring to the attention ‘of the peoples of the world’ the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as the common standard of achievement for all peoples and all nations.

Come together in a sharing circle to explore the many uses of wild and cultivated plants. On the second Tuesday of each month, the group examines a different herbal topic and works together in the herb garden, tending, harvesting and learning from each other. This is a hands-on, participant-led group and a wonderful way to get more comfortable using herbs. All skill levels are welcome! $10/year.

A Time Bank is a community of people who support each other. When you spend an hour to do something for an individual or group, you earn a “time credit.” Then, you can use that “time credit” to buy an hour of a neighbor’s time or engage in a group activity offered by a neighbor. It’s that simple. Yet it also has profound effects. You get to know your neighbors and friends and build an old-fashioned extended family of people who take care of each other. A Time Bank changes a whole community. Bring a dish to share and learn about the Care and Share Time Bank.

After many years of having formal banquets that take massive amounts of time and effort to plan and keep control of the costs, it was decided to change things up this year and have a potluck format. It will be the same great winter solstice fun with members and friends of the Humanist Community of Central Ohio.

Why Marriage Matters Ohio is a grassroots public education campaign to build support for marriage equality in Ohio. This campaign is about having conversations and sharing stories, showing that same-sex couples and their families should be welcomed and treated fairly in Ohio. It is about opening hearts and minds throughout our state.
