On Dec. 1, 1955, Rosa Parks, the mother of the modern civil rights movement, embodied the values of courage, fairness and compassion when she refused to give up her seat on a Montgomery, Alabama, bus to a white passenger. Her spirit inspires Ohio to recognize her legacy each year in “The Power of One,” Ohio’s annual statewide tribute to Rosa Parks.

How should we design decision-making for a team of robots to perform environmental monitoring and search and rescue? Princeton University’s Naomi Ehrich Leonard presents a unifying framework to explore the dynamics of groups.

Cages are disabling and traumatizing environments. As a result, prisoners suffer from low morale. They also suffer from a variety of human rights abuses committed by jail and prison officials such as torture and “extremely-poor-quality health care.” These forms of violence are state-sanctioned. Therefore, we can’t expect meaningful oversight of Ohio’s concentration camps to come from the state.
