Protest/Rally

Sunday, September 17, 1-4pm, beginning at 56th and Broadway, New York City

We deserve a fossil-free future.

We all want fresh air to breathe. Good jobs for our families. A planet where our lands and oceans thrive.

But the more oil, gas, and coal we burn, the more toxic air we breathe; the more heatwaves, fires, and floods we face. All while wealthy fossil fuel CEOs rake in record profits from dirty practices that pollute our communities.

Wednesday, September 13, 9am, Trinity Episcopal Church on Capitol Square, 125 E. Broad St.

Over a year after being ordered to redraw maps (for the fifth time) by the Ohio Supreme Court, the Ohio Redistricting Commission has finally called its first meeting to create new Ohio House and Senate Maps for the 2024 election.

We must show the Commission that Ohio’s commitment to fair maps has not wavered.

Friday, August 25, 5:30-6:45pm, Ohio Union, 1739 N. High St.

On Friday, August 25, student activists and community organizers at The Ohio State University are calling on Ted Carter to immediately resign and apologize for his role in the unjust invasion of Iraq and bombing of Yugoslavia. Organizers also demand the democratization of OSU so that students, faculty, and Columbus community members can collectively decide the leadership of OSU.

Saturday, July 1, 12noon, Salt Fork State Park [Shelter #1; next to Camp Beach], 14755 Cadiz Rd., Lore City, Ohio

Learn how you can help stop fracking in Ohio state parks.

Salt Fork State Park — Ohio’s gem of state parks — is under attack. An oil company — we don’t know which one but have an educated guess — has applied to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources to surround the state park with 16 frack pads that will frack an incredible 281 parcels under the park.

Sunday, June 25, 2pm, Ohio Statehouse

“No on HJR 1 and SJR 2: Protect the Voice of Ohio Voters,” hosted by Ohio Education Association

Wednesday, May 10, 12:30pm, Trinity Episcopal Church on Capitol Square, 125 E. Broad St.

Two proposed constitutional amendments seek to weaken the voice of voters. It’s time to stand up and fight back. House Joint Resolution 1 and Senate Joint Resolution 2 (HJR 1 and SJR 2) would make it much harder to pass citizen-initiated constitutional amendments in our state by requiring a supermajority of 60% of the vote.

Wednesday, May 3, 12:30pm, Trinity Episcopal Church on Capitol Square, 125 E. Broad St.

The Day of Action to stop HJR 1 has been changed to Wednesday, May 3!

The Ohio House session during which we believe that the vote on HJR 1 will take place has been moved to Wednesday, May 3; please join us then. We will gather at Trinity Episcopal Church, 125 E. Broad St., across the street from the Ohio Statehouse; we will then march over to the House Chamber at the Ohio Statehouse.

Thursday, April 27, 12:30pm, Trinity Episcopal Church on Capitol Square, 125 E. Broad St.

Anti-voter Ohio House members are planning to undermine the sacred principle of one person, one vote, take away our freedom and rights, and give special interests, lobbyists, and career politicians all of the power.

Let’s show up with our supporters so they understand that we will not stand for this.
