Sponsored by Niagara Foundation, a non-profit organization whose aim is to promote understanding and respect between the diverse groups of Central Ohio by creating peaceful settings for interaction. It was with the help of community-oriented professionals in industry and academia, along with university students, that Niagara Foundation Ohio was founded in 2003 as a means to aid the area through education, dialogue, and community service.

This is a city-wide tour offering the opportunity to see how your neighbors are raising chickens in the city. It is a self-guided tour. Includes presentations, workshops, demonstrations and screenings on a variety of topics, including, but not limited to, hypertension [high blood pressure] and diabetes prevention, healthy eating and nutrition, bullying [in and out of school], a Zumba workout [which will emphasize the importance of fitness in a fun program for all family members while understanding the importance of physical fitness and daily activity], chemical dependency awareness, and cancer awareness and early detection.

A reading group initiated by the Franklin County Green Party has formed to discuss Naomi Klein’s latest book This Changes Everything: Capitalism vs. the Climate. The group will meet the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30pm in Room 100 of the Northwood-High Building, 2231 N. High St. This event will follow the regular second-Tuesday 5:30pm Franklin County Green Party meeting.

To increase the health awareness in the community, the Asian Health Fair will be a health promotion and prevention event with culturally specific health information and screenings for Asian Americans in Central Ohio. Screenings and information will include, but will not be limited to, diabetes, vision, cholesterol, Hepatitis B, hearing, dental, nutrition, hypertension, and domestic violence prevention.
