The Summit on Sustainability is MORPC’s signature environmental conference, bringing hundreds of community leaders together to explore and share sustainable ideas and solutions and to celebrate individual and collaborative sustainability efforts with the Green Region Awards.

The Columbus Free Press brings you a full evening of political, protest, and psychedelic music from the past and present by local musicians and bands, emceed by Dan Dougan.

The Free Press Annual Awards ceremony, honoring local community activists, will happen between 7-8pm.

Come to enjoy the music and dance and sing along with songs of resistance and hear inspiring speakers. Refreshments will be available.

The Dances of Universal Peace are simple, meditative, and joyous circle dances that celebrate the variety of spiritual paths on Earth. If you like folk dancing, you’ll be right at home here. No previous experience is needed — just an open and willing attitude. Participation, not presentation, is the focus.

Gift to Be Simple is Simply Living’s premier annual fundraiser but it is more than that. It is an opportunity to learn, to share, and to enjoy healthy, quality food together. A variety of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free appetizers and desserts will be provided by Two Caterers; we’ll have a cash bar. Tickets for the event are $50 and include an annual membership in Simply Living.

On Sunday, October 22, at 4pm, join the Coalition of Immokalee Workers [CIW] and allies for a moving interfaith service at First Congregational Church to prayerfully enjoin Wendy’s to stand with farmworker women in ending sexual violence in the fields. Representatives from the CIW’s formidable Women’s Group will be in attendance at this service, sharing their experiences and uniting in the struggle for justice with Columbus-based faith communities.
