The Franklinton Fridays Music Series is back this summer! The Franklinton Arts District is hosting a free all-ages show, on the second Friday of each month, May through September.

This year, the Franklinton Fridays Music Series will be featuring songs created by young students working with “We Amplify Voices” and a variety of artists, both musical and graphic.

Friday, August 13, 6-10pm, 400 Square, 401 W. Town St., and Chromedge Studios, 289 W. Walnut St.

Join us on the 400 Square campus for Franklinton Fridays!We will have open studios and galleries at 400 West Rich and at Chromedge Studios, dinner and drinks at Strongwater Food and Spirits [401 W. Town St.], outdoor vendors and a Friendship Flea market, and more!

Friday, August 13, 6-9pm, Wild Goose Creative, 188 McDowell St.

Six Ohio artists are crafting posters, inspired by insights from incarcerated and justice-impacted artists, about the importance of the work that they do.

In August, we will release the six posters in a limited edition of fine prints. You can buy the prints at this pop-up show, and on-line later. The event takes place at Wild Goose Creative’s new space in Franklinton (at 188 McDowell St.).

This is a special event for those living in and around Upper Arlington (UA) to define and map their community in advance of new state and Congressional district maps which will soon be drawn. Participation is limited to 25 because there will be lots of discussion and interaction. We are even asking participants to do a little bit of “homework” ahead of the event. (Don’t worry, it’s very limited and there will be no grading!)

Join us for a monthly meeting to take action in the Beyond Coal Campaign. We are organizing to stop fossil fuels and to move towards a renewable, just, and equitable future! This meeting will focus on a campaign to request that the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio [PUCO] protect Ohioans from unjust coal plant bailouts.

Their livelihood relies on leading their flock, but when their faith is gone, they may be “stuck in the pulpit” usually without the skills or connections to simply walk away.
