Join Central Ohio Revolutionary Socialists on Thursday, May 11 for the first part of our reading group on Assata (Shakur), An Autobiography.

This book gives a personal and political look into the life of Assata Shakur, a Black Panther, feminist, and revolutionary activist during the radical movements of the 60s and 70s and details her struggle against the repression she and many others faced at the hands of the U.S. government.

Nineteen artists will be featured whose work is owned by the Columbus Museum of Art and who lived and worked (at least for a time) in Columbus, Ohio.

We’ll be discussing artists like Alice Schille, George Bellows, Elijah Pierce, Emerson Burkhart, Roy Lichtenstein, and Aminah Robinson.
