Let’s put some meaning back into the Labor Day holiday this year by singing the praises — literally — of all the workers who make our lives richer by doing their everyday jobs: farmers, truckers, factory workers, teachers, doctors, white collar workers, miners, and more.

Join me as I sing songs made famous by a wide variety of folks: Woody Guthrie, Sam Cooke, Dolly Parton, Pete Seeger, Bruce Springsteen, Alabama, Leadbelly, etc.

Sunday, September 3, 8am-3pm, beginning and ending at Hollywood Casino, 200 Georgesville Rd.

Columbus Ohio’s original city-wide ride since 2008, “Bike the Cbus” is a bicycle tour for all ages and abilities. The 30-mile route will highlight Columbus landmarks. The route will be a combination of trails and road riding.

Join Central Ohio Revolutionary Socialists for a meeting discussing and debating the methods we need to use to advance the socialist movement and end capitalist oppression once and for all. We’ll talk about the role of organization, the centrality of anti-oppression struggles, and the need for total independence from the ruling class and its political parties.

Are you concerned about the impacts of climate change and its effects on mental health? Join us for an eye-opening documentary screening and panel discussion that sheds light on this crucial issue affecting the younger generation. We are excited to invite you to “Gen Z Mental Health: Climate Stories,” a thought-provoking short film that explores the climate change emotions experienced by young people today.

Join us each week for fresh, affordable, nutritious produce, local artisan creations, activities for youth, live music, and a food truck. This week there will be a Plant Swap and Recipe Swap; bring a plant and get a plant. And check out tasty plant-based recipes.

Vendors include Local Matters, Cynts Scents, Sankofa Love Designs, R02K, Coffico, and many, many others!

This event will repeat each Thursday, 3-6pm, until September 28.

Sunday, August 27, 12noon-6pm, Moeller Park, 281 Hanford St.

This annual, outdoor, rain-or-shine festival features artists, crafters, businesses, and organizations as we celebrate the community and atmosphere of the Historic Merion Village neighborhood. All proceeds from this event benefit the Merion Village Association, a 501(c)(3) civic organization.
