The 38th Annual Music on the Lawn summer concert series kicks off in July with a new outdoor pavilion and site improvements to celebrate the library’s 100th anniversary! A significant portion of the project is being funded with a donation from the Grandview Heights Public Library Foundation.

Concerts take place on Tuesdays, 7-8pm, July and August (instead of June-July, due to construction).

Rainmaker Blues Trio has that “old-school” blues sound of the 50s and 60s, when rural blues music was evolving, with influences including big-band swing, piano blues, amplification, jazz, soul, and even country music. Featured are John Henry’s original blues and ballads that reflect his life experiences as well as a wide range of songs from this classic era of American music.

For centuries, drum circles have been a source of cultural expression and unity. This outdoor activity engages people safely and allows them to social distance while experiencing community, rhythm and sound.

Elder drummers, community leaders, musicians, neighbors, and past residents will gather with African drums and lawn chairs to share stories, song and dance.

Join us for the opening day of the 2024 Greater Columbus Arts Council Visual Arts Awards Exhibition. This exhibition features work by artists in central Ohio who have been recognized for their outstanding talent. Presented biennially, the exhibition represents a continuing partnership between the Columbus Museum of Art and the Greater Columbus Arts Council. Featured artists for the 2024 exhibition include Dillon Beck, Brett Davis, Marsha Mack, and Alek Shabazz.
