Please join the Mershon Center’s American Foreign and Military Policy Research Cluster for a discussion with Dr. Cynthia Burack, a political theorist and professor of women’s, gender, and sexuality studies here at Ohio State. She will discuss important work from her 2018 book Because We Are Human: Contesting U.S. Support for Gender and Sexuality Human Rights Abroad. Dr. Burack will examine the Obama administration’s shift to supporting LGBTI rights organizations in places like Russia and Africa as well as the Trump administration’s LGBTI human rights record.
