“Revolutionary Reading Group: Discipline and Punish,” hosted by Central Ohio Revolutionary Socialists

Thursday, September 29, 7-9pm, Tuttle Park [on the south side of the Tuttle Community Center], 240 W. Oakland Ave.

The people have spoken! Beginning Thursday, September 22 at 7pm, our newest reading group will be on Michel Foucault’s Discipline and Punish, a deeper look at the history, philosophy, and misconceptions underlying the reactive punishment woven into our culture (and which must be deconstructed).

9-22: Part 1: Torture

9-29: Part 2: Punishment

10-13: Part 3.1: Discipline

10-20: Parts 3.2 and 3.3: Discipline

10-27: Part 4: Prison

All are welcome to show up for discussion even if you don’t finish the full reading in time, which is free at monoskop.org/images/4/43/Foucault_Michel_Discipline_and_Punish_The_Birth_of_the_Prison_1977_1995.pdf.

Around 8pm, we will transition to a regular organizing meeting.

See you at Tuttle Park or online at tinyurl.com/CORSmeeting.
