“‘OK Boomer’ is Not OK: An Art Show About Ageism in the Media and the Arts,” hosted by Wild Goose Creative

Saturday, July 24, 6:30pm, Wild Goose Creative, 188 McDowell St.

“‘OK Boomer’ is Not OK: An Art Show About Ageism in the Media and the Arts,” will be held Saturday, July 24, 6:30-9:30pm, at Wild Goose Creative [in their new space in Franklinton]. With gratitude to the Greater Columbus Arts Council for their support, filmmaker Gabrielle Burton is organizing this pop-up art evening to celebrate our creative community as we come out of the pandemic and to and enable a much-needed discussion about ageism in our culture, its intersectionality with other stereotyping and -isms, and what we can do about it.

Focusing on the themes of age, ageism, aging, time, and social consequences, this evening will highlight work of local artists and will include a panel discussion on the topic. Luster Dela Virgion will do a gender performance; Gabrielle Burton will premiere “Old Guy,” a short film; visual artists will be shown on table-top easels and digitally.
