The Accessible Transportation Advisory Committee [ATAC] meets quarterly and advises the Central Ohio Transit Authority [COTA] on matters pertaining to accessible transportation. Members include customers and people in the community who advocate for those with disabilities.

The monthly meeting of the local affiliate of the national Move to Amend organization that is calling for a U.S. Constitutional amendment to reverse several U.S. Supreme Court decisions during the past century and thereby to firmly establish that corporations are not people and that money is not free speech. Find out what can be done locally to restore democracy! Bring a brown bag lunch.

Today’s program: a screening of “Hiroshima: BBC History of World War II” (89 minutes)

This 2005 BBC documentary recounts the world’s first nuclear attack and examines its alarming repercussions. Covering a three-week period from the New Mexico test blast to dropping the bomb on Hiroshima, this program chronicles America’s political gamble and the planning for that momentous event. Archival film, dramatizations, and special effects take viewers aboard the Enola Gay and inside the exploding bomb.

These individuals are working to rebuild what’s broken, rethink what’s possible, and revitalize communities. These stories are proof that America does not need to choose between keeping our lights on and protecting our communities.
