To bring together advocates of health care for all — businesses, community groups, faith groups, health care providers, unions, women’s organizations, and others — to devise ways to build support for publicly funded, not-for-profit universal health care guaranteeing comprehensive coverage for all Ohioans.

Ruth and Rick Leonard and their sons lived in China for three years where she and Rick taught English to university students. After the family returned, Ruth kept returning — until recently. Just a few days after Earth Day, Ruth will describe for us the significant air pollution in China. We’ve all heard in the news how bad it can be, but Ruth has lived with it and has a great story to tell about its impact on both Chinese and American families.

Kimberly Cremers will share her insights and stories of her work in Gaza with Doctors without Borders in September 2014 for four weeks immediately following the ceasefire of Operation Protective Edge. Kimberly is a pharmacist who had worked for one year, in Africa and in Gaza, for Doctors Without Borders; she now works in Columbus.
