Innovative Workshop To Resolve Political Conflicts With Respectful Guided Discussions

In a groundbreaking initiative to foster peace and unity across the nation, the USA Peace Talks will launch on Tuesday, January 20 at 8 PM Eastern time.

Mitchell Plitnick, a political analyst and writer, is the president of ReThinking Foreign Policy.  He is the author, with Marc Lamont Hill, of Except for Palestine: The Limits of Progressive Politics, published in February 2021 by The New Press. Mitchell’s previous positions include vice president at the Foundation for Middle East Peace, Director of the US Office of B’Tselem: The Israeli Information Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories, and Co-Director of Jewish Voice for Peace.

On Monday, January 12, at 1 p.m., Ohio's Oil and Gas Land Management Commission -- the five-member governor-appointed body in charge of decisions about fracking Ohio's state parks and public lands -- will hold a public hearing about changes to the standard form for leasing our lands to the oil and gas industry.

This hearing will be the first time in almost three years that the citizens of Ohio will be allowed to speak at a meeting regarding the fate of the state parks and public lands that we own, use, and cherish.

The Self-Preservation and Community Care Workshop is intended to help new-to-activism folks understand their relationship to power and privilege and how leveraging privilege(s) is both self-care and community care. The workshop is based on a psychotherapy consciousness-building skills model created by Leticia Nieto. This is a two part workshop. In the first part the facilitator will walk participants through the survival and thrivance skills built for targets of oppression and for people who benefit from power.

The chaos out of the White House is meant to overwhelm us. Our antidote is community. Join Indivisible co-founders Leah Greenberg and Ezra Levin every Thursday to break down the week’s biggest political stories, answer your questions, and map out strategies for taking action.

This is people-powered politics in real time. Questions can be submitted via the Q&A function during the live event.

Real talk. Real people. Real action. That's the plan.

Our Somali neighbors are experiencing an urgent and escalating situation—and our communities need to be informed, aligned, and ready to act with care, clarity, and solidarity. Join us for a community-wide virtual gathering designed to ground us in what’s happening, hear directly from trusted speakers, and prepare ourselves to respond effectively and safely. During this session, we will:

-Hear a clear, accessible briefing on the current threats and realities facing the Somali community

-Understand the story of now—why this moment matters and what solidarity looks like

This training will share important skills for documenting ICE activity and supporting neighbors in your community. ICE Watch is a key strategy being used by groups across the country to protect their communities against aggressive activity by ICE agents.

Practicing ICE Watch protects our neighborhoods from immigration enforcement by ensuring our community members know their rights, have a plan, and know how to act in the event of targeting by ICE. In addition to covering the basics of ICE Watch, we will discuss new analysis on ICE operations and safety guidance.
