“Kwanzaa: A Celebration of Family, Community and Culture,” hosted by Ohio History Connection

Sunday, December 26, to Saturday, January 1m 4-8pm, Ohio History Center, 800 E. 17th Ave.

Kwanzaa, a Swahili term that refers to fresh fruits or harvest, is an annual celebration honoring African heritage in African American Culture. Each evening a principle of Nguzo Saba will be honored through fun and family focused activities that will include dance, drumming, storytelling, poetry, theatre, crafts and more.

Based on the Seven Principles of Nguzo Saba, the event will showcase high energy and engaging performances of African drumming, dance, poetry, theatre and storytelling.
