The Healing Power of Forgiveness and Why the Death Penalty Fails Murder Victim Families [A Lunchtime Presentation and Discussion]

Monday, October 29, 11:45am-1pm, First Congregational Church, 444 E. Broad St.

Join Rev. Dr. Timothy C. Ahrens and Ohioans to Stop Executions as we welcome SueZann Bosler, who will share her story and example of the healing power of forgiveness. SueZann witnessed her father, Rev. Billy Bosler, be stabbed to death in their parsonage before she herself was stabbed and left for dead. Her faith and her father taught forgiveness, and she took that to heart — advocating that her attacker not receive the death penalty.

SueZann is in Columbus as part of an exploratory visit to gauge interest in bringing a larger group of speakers with similar stories to Ohio, early in 2019, to help advocate for better services for Ohio homicide survivors rather than the false promises offered by the promise of an unlikely execution at some point decades in the future.

Join us to learn more about the possibilities and opportunities!

Drinks will be provided. This is a “Bring Your Own” Lunchtime Event, but we’ll also have some box lunches available for a minimum donation of $10. To reserve a box lunch, please e-mail abe@otse.org.
