Urban Scrawl is a two-day arts festival organized by the Franklinton Arts District that features the live creation of murals at 400 W. Rich St. by talented artists from central Ohio and beyond. Since 2007, Urban Scrawl has provided Columbus artists a way to showcase their talent while participating in Central Ohio’s largest ongoing urban renewal project. Each year, the number of participants, murals, sponsors, and attendees grows, making this a landmark summer event in Columbus, Ohio.

The Third Annual Columbus VegFest will feature a variety of free workshops and cooking demos on healthy living, environmentalism, nutrition, animal activism, mindful living, and more! This event will include a Health and Wellness Stage, a Community and Activism Stage, a Kids Activity Area, and a Yoga and Meditation Area.

Parking and admission will be free.

Sunday, August 19, doors will open at 4:30pm, program will begin at 5pm, International Academy of Columbus, 2439 Fuji Dr.

Keynote Speaker: Ms. Rachel Brown, a Simon-Skjodt Center Genocide Prevention Fellow at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in 2014. She used her fellowship to conceptualize and author the Defusing Hate guide and workbooks, which she now draws from to provide technical support to organizations and assess new opportunities for pilot projects.

Friday, August 17 and Saturday, August 18, 11am-11pm; Bicentennial Park, 233 S. Civic Center Dr., The Scioto Mile, and the Rich St. bridge

This two-day event will feature 50-60 of the best food trucks from Ohio and the surrounding areas, will feature live music on the Bicentennial Park Stage and on our Second Stage [located on Washington Blvd. on the west side of the river], and will include family fun for all ages.

Please join the Foundation Fighting Blindness, Central Ohio Chapter, for a fun day of golf! Includes green fees and cart, practice range balls and putting greens, a box lunch, and a barbecue dinner. If you can’t make it for golf, then join us for dinner! All proceeds benefit the Foundation Fighting Blindness.

Registration: 12noon; shotgun start: 1pm; dinner: 6pm
