In collaboration with OSU Chadwick Arboretum & Learning Gardens and Great Lakes Brewing Company, we invite you to join us for the first Green Drinks of 2020. We are kicking off the Earth Day Columbus campaign by celebrating volunteerism with many great local nonprofit organizations: 2020 will be a very important year for the environment as Earth Day turns 50. Together, we can make a difference in the new year!

Wednesday, January 15, 6-8pm, Roosters, 3370 Olentangy River Rd.

Join us as we write to registered progressive voters who have moved but haven’t updated their voting address. We’ll also chat about upcoming opportunities to register voters and other activities.

We’ll be in the back room of Roosters, 3370 Olentangy River Rd., and will have plenty of postcards, stamps, and markers. We just need you to help us write!

Thursday, February 6, 7-8:30pm, Compassionate Communication Center of Ohio [inside of Maynard Ave. United Methodist Church], 2350 Indianola Ave.

Join us for an engaging and fun introduction to Compassionate-Nonviolent Communication (NVC), the Language of the Heart, led by Susanna Warren.

People of all experience levels, ranging from beginners to experienced practitioners, are welcome to this gathering. We will have a short explanation, a demonstration, and then we will give everyone a chance to practice giving and/or receiving empathy.

Don’t believe in God? You are not alone! Join the Humanist Community of Central Ohio [HCCO], a community that values people, emphasizes reason, and focuses on this world.

Come out and join us for dinner and conversation! We’ll be in the back room unless there’s a special event going on in that room.

Monday, January 20, 8am-12noon, First AME [African Methodist Episcopal] Zion Church, 873 Bryden Rd.

Police Officers for Equal Rights [POER] invites the Central Ohio community to attend our 25th Annual Free Community Breakfast on the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

A free breakfast will be served, 8-10am. A community program of gospel music, videos, and a keynote speaker, will be held in the sanctuary, 10am-12noon.
