This is the first of a new series of monthly virtual gatherings on the third Wednesday of each month. It’s an opportunity to meet others who share our values, make new friends, and do a little networking. Here’s a rough outline of how it will go [times can and will vary].

• 7-7:10pm: The facilitator will welcome everyone and will make sure that everyone is comfortable with the technology.

• 7:10-7:30pm: Introductions, maybe an ice-breaker.

Equality Ohio’s legal clinic provides free legal support to LGBTQ Ohioans, within 300% of the poverty line, who are experiencing legal hardship because of their sexual orientation or gender identity/expression.

Due to community health concerns regarding COVID-19, we are currently suspending our in-person legal clinics. Instead, our attorneys will be hosting virtual Intake Hours throughout the week. If you are in need of legal help, please contact the attorney closest to your area.

Sunday, July 12, 2pm, this on-line event requires advance registration

The Story of Plastictakes a sweeping look at the man-made crisis of plastic pollution and the worldwide effect that it has on the health of our planet and on the people who inhabit it. Spanning three continents, this film illustrates the ongoing catastrophe: fields full of garbage, veritable mountains of trash, rivers and seas clogged with waste, and skies choked with the poisonous emissions from plastic production and processing.

Thursday, July 9, 6-8pm, this on-line event requires advance registration

Join climate and racial justice activists Patty Hine, Deb McGee, and Heron Brae for a discussion on how we can care for each other in solidarity to enable activists’ longevity and well-being as we challenge systems of domination and oppression together. Our panelists will address what self-care would look like in a classless society, the role of privilege to leverage change, and how art and community can help sustain us.
