Each summer, the Thurber House lawn plays host to a series of outdoor literary picnics and readings with authors who have an Ohio connection. While this year’s picnics might look a little different, join us for this long-running tradition of good friends and great books!

Jess Montgomery showcases her skills as a storyteller in The Hollows, a powerful, big-hearted and exquisitely written follow-up to her highly acclaimed debut The Widows.

Do you have questions about legally changing your name and or gender marker in Ohio? RSVP to our Virtual Name and Gender Marker Change legal clinic today. You’ll be able to talk to a trained lawyer over the phone or through Zoom about the name and gender marker process.

This is an extended clinic in partnership with Equality Ohio. Additional services include consumer, family, and civil rights law.

Tuesday, July 21, 3-7pm, on-line pre-registration for this on-line event is required

Equality Ohio’s legal clinic provides free legal support to LGBTQ Ohioans, within 300% of the poverty line, who are experiencing legal hardship because of their sexual orientation or gender identity/expression.

Due to community health concerns regarding COVID-19, we are currently suspending our in-person legal clinics. Instead, our attorneys will be hosting virtual Intake Hours throughout the week. If you are in need of legal help, please contact the attorney closest to your area.

As we continue to fight against inequality in the United States and beyond, there’s no better time to examine the role of religion (Christianity in particular) in establishing racist practices and systems that have impacted Black communities. We must also critically ask if religious belief is helpful or a hindrance to true liberation.
