Drawing on ethnographic fieldwork, comparative research, and over 110 hours of face-to-face interviews with a diverse range of political, academic, civil society, and community actors across Northern Ireland, “A Troubled Sleep: Risk and resilience in Contemporary Northern Ireland” revisits one of the world’s most deeply divided societies to analyze Northern Ireland’s current vulnerabilities, and points of resilience, as an allegedly “post-conflict” society.

On Veterans Day of 2020, the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian opened the National Native American Veterans Memorial on its grounds, honoring the extraordinary tradition of military service by generations of American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian men and women. Curator Rebecca Trautmann will discuss the memorial’s creation and design and the history of Native American military service.

We will look at the different types of Catholic, Protestant, and Jewish records and where to locate them.

Yvonka Hall, Executive Director of the Northeast Ohio Black Health Coalition, will conduct a workshop for SPAN [Single Payer Action Network] Ohio on how to successfully engage with diverse communities, especially communities of color. We are inviting all of you to join us that day. While we will be concentrating on the health care issue, this training will be helpful for any social justice organization.
