The Newark Earthworks are the largest set of geometric earthen enclosures in the world. Honored as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2023, the entire Newark Earthworks originally encompassed more than four square miles.

Parents, child care providers, and child care advocates recently announced coast-to-coast events coinciding with the Day Without Child Care (DWOCC). The DWOCC will be held on May 13, and is designed to build support for fully funded, quality early childhood education and care.

In Ohio, The CEO [Care Economy Organizing] Project, a division of the Ohio Organizing Collaborative, will bring about 500 providers to the Ohio Statehouse. The advocates released the following statement:

Join Ohio Youth for Climate Justice for a pop-up show featuring art and poetry from local artists about the environment, climate justice, and its intersection with our collective liberation. There will be beverages and snacks. Masks will be provided and required.

Join the Central Ohio Worker Center, community partners, and workers’ rights organizations for a community celebration. We will have free food and drinks, including tacos, kebabs, and ice cream, from several food trucks. Bring the whole family and enjoy face painting, music, dancing, and performances.

The Humanist Monthly Program is our longest running event and still a community favorite. In the old days it used to be called “Going to HCCO” and we still like to think of it as our flagship event.

Food and drinks will be provided at the event. Feel free to show up a little bit early to hang out and talk.
