Celebrate Columbus’ African-American History

1422 E. Livingston Ave.

Come learn the role that music has played within the African-American community from local jazz musician Arnett Howard, a major contributor to the collection. Local musician and former music teacher Mary Daniels will discuss the importance of music teachers. And, hear about the influence of music during the Civil Rights era.

In addition, the Driving Park Branch will host a “scanning event” and is encouraging customers to bring in their treasured photos and historical documents to be preserved in the Columbus Metropolitan Library’s African-American Digital Collection.
