“Black History Month: Filmmaker Talk and Screening,” hosted by Upper Arlington Public Library

We’re proud to join Upper Arlington’s celebration of Black History Month. On Tuesday, February 22 at 6:30pm in the Friends Theater, Columbus filmmaker Chris Bournea will introduce you to inspiring women who braved sexism and racism during professional wrestling’s golden age.

Lady Wrestler: The Amazing, Untold Story of African-American Women in the Ringis a documentary that chronicles the stories of Babs Wingo, Ethel Johnson, Marva Scott, Ramona Isbell, and dozens of other women who blazed a trail long before many of the breakthroughs of the civil rights and feminist movements.

Bournea will share clips from the documentary and take questions from the audience.

A full screening of Lady Wrestler is scheduled for 6:30pm on Wednesday, March 2 in the Friends Theater.
