Saturday, October 4, 2pm, First Congregational Church, 444 E. Broad St.

A century ago, Rev. Dr. Washington Gladden made waves by translating faith and justice into plain, accessible language for everyday people. This year’s Gladden Lecture continues that legacy with Dr. Pete Enns, author, scholar, and co-host of The Bible for Normal People.

Enns is known for making big, complicated questions about the Bible approachable — and for pushing us to consider what those questions mean in real life. During this year’s Gladden Lecture Series: “The Case for Social Justice,” he’ll explore how biblical scholarship intersects with today’s justice movements, making connections that are as urgent now as they were in Gladden’s time.

After the lecture, join us for a facilitated discussion and a book signing of his newest release, Curveball: When Your Faith Takes Turns You Never Saw Coming.
