Saturday, September 27, 8pm, Columbus Mennonite Church, 35 Oakland Park Ave.

Country-folk songsmith Moe Reen will be kicking off the Columbus Folk Music Society’s 2025/26 Americana/Folk Concert Series on Saturday September 27!

Moe Reen writes from the heart, for the heart. A lifelong vocalist, their old-school country voice harkens to honky-tonk-heartbreak crooners of yesteryear, while their lyrics appeal to the personal-political concerns of today. Moe’s marriage of sentimental sound with contemporary sentiment produces something distinctly their own: earnest lyrics cradled by melodies that tenderly soar to tend to the sore, soft spots of us all.

The evening will begin with an open jam at 6pm and an open mic at 7pm, followed by Moe Reen’s performance at 8pm. A donation of $15 is suggested for the general public, $10 for students and Columbus Folk Music Society members, and free for children 12 and under.

Parking is free in the Mennonite Church parking lot, along Oakland Park Ave., and in the North Broadway United Methodist Church parking lot which is accessible by going north on Broadway Place. More information may be found at columbusfolkmusicsociety.org.

Hosted by Columbus Folk Music Society.
